Bush Theatre's new writing policy
The Bush have announced a new policy for their new writing programme.
I'm unsure after critic Ian Shuttleworth rightly highlighted that the programme would be closed to submission for 46 weeks of the year- look at his twitter @ianshutters https://twitter.com/ianshutters to witness a rather barbaric assault on the theatre- however I am not dismissing the proposed change and will be interested to see it in action.

I want to see this...
Featuring Daniel Kaluuya, a great young actor and a fantastic director in Joe Wright, this may be well worth the trip to the Donmar.

On the topic of Joe Wright, I found his recent film Anna Karenina featuring a screenplay by Tom Stoppard and the wonderful Aaron Taylor Johnson as one of the leads rather entrancing.
What do you think? Did Wright do justice to the Russian classic?

First up...
A few days ago I saw this... http://www.sadlerswells.com/show/Batsheva-Ensemble-Deca-Dance and it was fantastic.
However a dark shadow was cast over a thrilling evening by anti-Israel protesters. After being subjected to a barrage of chants as I queued to get into the venue which had brought in heightened security measures there was also four interruptions during the show. This however did not inhibit the performers in any way who with an average age of 20 showed an unparalleled commitment.
Check out the links for more information and a couple of reviews.

A new direction
Hello all,
From now on our website will be taking a slightly different direction.
We plan on keeping playdeadpress.com more regularly updated and instead of just focusing on the activities of the company we plan to use the site to engage you with everything that culturally tickles our fancy. Primarily the focus will be on theatre but there will also be a dash of dance, music, literature, anything that may be worth look.
In the meantime be sure to check out our upcoming publication Fulfil Me Fully, Phil which is being performed at the Space in London. http://space.org.uk/?p=7532
